Signs Your Child Needs to Upgrade Their Mattress
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: sleep is important. Imagine us clapping for emphasis with each word. And for children, sleep is SO IMPORTANT. LOUDER CLAPPING.
Getting the right amount of sleep helps kids regulate emotions, stay focused, and learn and retain new information. A new mattress might be just what your kids need to take on the school year with their best foot forward.
So, what are some signs that your child is ready for a new mattress?
1. It’s time to transition.
We all know that the journey from a crib to a big-kid bed is bound to happen. But when is it time to move to a bigger-kid bed? If your child is older than seven years, it probably meansthat their growth is catching up with the life span of their mattress, and they might not be getting the support they need.
2. Growth spurts!
If your child’s pants are starting to look like capris, it might be time to move up a mattress size! When you’re seeing dangling ankles off the foot of the bed—let’s size up.
3. That mattress is worn out.
Feeling lumps and bumps, hearing creaking, and encounteringcertain smells that don’t go away means your mattress is worrrrrrrrn out. That’s ok, getting worn out happens to the best of us.
4. it’s just not comfortable for your kid.
Adults think we have a monopoly on complaining about aches and pains, but kids can be uncomfortable too! If your child is struggling to get comfortable, complaining of aches, or waking up several times throughout the night, their mattress is not the right fit.
Finding the right mattress is so important for a good night’s sleep—for kids and adults! The good news is that today’s mattresses are far more affordable, so you can upgrade your kid(s) to a brand-new bed without breaking the bank.
