Fall Bucket List
The fall is just around the corner. And with that comes the crisp cool air inviting all the wonderful autumn festivities. It may be difficult to know where to start. And the list of fun may be different for every person depending on the stage of life. Here is a bucket list to get you started on all the fun.
Decorate for Fall
Some are sad to say goodbye to summer. Some of us have been itching to get the fall decorations out for a while now. Whatever camp you’re in, you must admit those fall decorations are always sure to lift your spirits. Break out the fall-scented candles, the orange, red, and yellow hues of the foliage, spooky wall décor, and the warm quilts. Don’t be afraid to go all in and make the most of this fall season.
Movie Marathon
Sometimes all it takes is a few themed movies to get you in the fall spirit. Start the fall off right with a spooky movie that the whole family can enjoy such as Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Addams Family, or Harry Potter. Break out the popcorn and snuggle on the couch for fall-filled fun.
Comfort Foods
Colder weather means making all the warm comfort foods that your heart could ever dream of. Crockpot soups are a definite must. Chicken Pot Pie, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes are for sure warm favorites that will give your insides a hug. And cinnamon rolls are especially tasty and fresh out of the oven. If it’s warm, it’s sure to bring the comfort that you crave.
Pumpkin Treats
Speaking of comfort foods, it’s time for pumpkin-flavored everything! This may provoke eye rolls for some. But for others, this is the best time of year. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin spiced latte, and pumpkin pie are the obvious go-to's. But there is also pumpkin frozen yogurt and pumpkin-flavored cereal. And don’t forget roasting pumpkin seeds!
Football Game
Fall also means football season! Check in on your fantasy football league put on your jersey, and let the games commence. Watching a game on the television is a great indoor activity that brings all sports fans together. But don’t forget, it’s also a great time to go outside and pick up the ball yourself with family and friends. Whether you’re just passing the ball with a child or playing in the annual Turkey Bowl, you’re bound to make lasting memories.
Carve Pumpkins
It’s gooey. It’s spooky fun! It wouldn’t be October without carving pumpkins. If you’re really great at carving, find an awesome template and make it a competition with some friends. Or if you’re an amateur, you can still create some lasting memories with your children by carving classic shapes and playing with some pumpkin guts.
Pile of Leaves
Some of the best fall memories are the ones outside in nature. And it doesn’t have to be complicated. Simply rake up a pile of leaves and play in the pile. Make a game with your children and hide a toy that they have to find. Or play dead-man by burying each other, counting to five before the zombie is resurrected. Simple games are the ones that have the most memories attached to them.
Fall Nature Hike
One of the simplest things you can do to really get the full fall experience is just by being outside in it. Look up some of the most beautiful nature walks or hikes in your area so you can experience the fall colors yourself. Reconnecting with the outdoors and enjoying nature can clear our minds and help us enjoy the true beauty.
